Aquaculture Field School of Kalong-Kapili

Kalong-Kapili takes pride in its Integrated Aquaculture Centre (IAC), which has been officially recognized by ICAR-CIFA, Government of India, as the first Aquaculture Field School (AFS) in the North East Region. The primary aim of AFS is to empower fish farmers in the region through comprehensive learning, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.

The school’s campus is well-equipped with all essential facilities, providing an ideal learning environment. Participants are encouraged to freely express their opinions and engage in discussions. Our team of highly qualified resource persons is dedicated to considering each trainee’s expectations, attitudes, and experiences during the training.

Kalong-Kapili’s AFS is a unique facility in Assam, offering comprehensive training under one roof, a feature not available elsewhere in the state. We are confident that the AFS, with its residential training capabilities, meets GIZ’s criteria and guidelines for CRP training.

Over time, we have successfully conducted various training programs, including residential sessions, exposure visits, and daylong programs for fish farmers in India. These initiatives have been made possible with support from the ICAR-CIFA, Department of Fisheries, Government of Assam, GIZ and NABARD.

The residential training programme of Community Resource Person (CRP) has been conducted successfully at AFS of Kalong-Kapili.
