Kitchen Garden

The village’s current dietary practices primarily consist of locally sourced rice supplemented with seasonal vegetables, which are mostly procured from external vendors. Our vision is to establish one kitchen garden per family within the community. These gardens will yield a variety of nutritious produce, ensuring that the villagers can meet their dietary needs effectively. A kitchen garden, in its basic form, yields a range of fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs, contributing to the preparation of delicious and healthful meals. While it is not mandatory for the garden to be situated directly outside the kitchen, proximity is advantageous for convenience.

The key objectives of implementing these kitchen gardens are as follows:

a. Addressing the daily requirements for a well-balanced diet.
b. Cultivating high-quality, fresh vegetables.
c. Making productive use of the labour contributed by family members.
