To bring the society to a self-realization about its own limitations and possibilities, it is of paramount importance to consider the role of women. A society where women do not shoulder crucial responsibility will not be able to make progress in keeping with the changing times. So, remembering this and keen to involve women as major stake holders in any economic resuscitation, Kalong-Kapili has encouraged women in rural areas to come forward in the community rebuilding and revenue generation process.

Wherever Kalong-Kapili has intervened, there has been a perceptible change in the life of women. With careful planning and execution, we have succeeded in bringing these women in rural areas out of their cocoons. Through various programmes aimed at their betterment, we have made them confident, communicative and participative. The success story of our women SHGs is no less than a voyage from inhibition to aspiration, from financial crunch to sustainable income.
