Community-Led Development | National Fish Farmers Day 2026
Today, on National Fish Farmers Day, the Kalong-Kapili family proudly celebrated this special occasion at Aqua Tech Park, Bagibari, Sonapur, Kamrup Metro, Assam.
For the past 18 years, Kalong-Kapili has been dedicated to strengthening the aquaculture sector across Assam and the entire North East India, empowering communities through sustainable livelihoods, innovation, and knowledge-driven interventions.
To mark this year’s celebration, we distributed quality fish seeds and fish feed to community ponds, reaffirming our commitment to promoting community-led aquaculture development. By encouraging collective ownership and participation, we aim to build a stronger, more resilient, and self-sustaining aquaculture ecosystem.
We firmly believe that aquaculture holds immense potential to transform rural livelihoods, improve nutritional security, and generate sustainable income. When communities lead the process, development becomes more inclusive, resilient, and lasting.
Together, let us build a future where every pond becomes a source of prosperity, every farmer becomes an entrepreneur, and every community becomes a custodian of sustainable aquaculture.
