Kalong-Kapili stands with all the flood victims of Assam.

🐟 Strengthening Tribal Livelihoods through Integrated Aquaculture Practices at Marngar cluster, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya! 🌿

Kalong-Kapili is proud to implement the “Tribal Resilience Initiative For Building Environmentally Sustainable Livelihoods” (TRIBES) project, supported by the NABARD Regional Office, Shillong, Meghalaya at Marngar cluster of Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya.

This impactful initiative is empowering 200 tribal households across the Marngar Cluster of Umling Block, Ri-Bhoi District with climate-resilient, integrated aquaculture interventions designed to enhance livelihoods, boost nutritional security, and create sustainable income opportunities.

📌 Key Updates & Activities (August 5–6, 2026):

🔹 Project Monitoring & Review Committee (PMRC) Meeting.

On August 5, 2026, the PMRC meeting was held at the TRIBES Project Office in Marngar under the chairmanship of Shri M. Dkhar, DDM, NABARD, Ri-Bhoi District. The discussion focused on project milestones, active community participation, inter-departmental convergence, and strategic execution plans with the participanion of Government officials, Village Project Committee (VPC) members and the team of Kalong-Kapili.

🔹 Training and Capacity Building

A specialized training on "Stocking and Good Management Practices of Fish and Horticulture Crops" was conducted for 100 beneficiary farmers on 5 & 6 August 2026. Participants received hands-on guidance on stocking strategies, fish disease management, and maintaining structured farm record books.

🔹 Field Visits & Practical Demonstrations

The Kalong-Kapili team conducted field visits to evaluate on-ground progress and interact directly with families. Farmers gained practical, hands-on experience in:
• Testing key water quality parameters
• Calculating accurate pond biomass
• Proper feeding schedules and timely liming

We extend our sincere thanks to the NABARD Regional Office, Shillong, the Village Project Committees, and all stakeholders for their unwavering support in driving community-led rural transformation.

Standing Together for Flood-Affected Families in Upper Assam

On 31 July 2026, the Kalong-Kapili family, along with our generous well-wishers, visited the flood-affected areas of Upper Assam and extended relief support to 500 families.

Each relief kit contained essential items, including biscuits, flattened rice (chira), instant noodles, oral rehydration salts (ORS), soup packets, and detergent, to help meet the immediate needs of affected families of the remote areas of Sivsagar district of Assam.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to every individual, volunteer, donor, and well-wisher whose unwavering support made this noble initiative possible. Your kindness and compassion have brought hope and relief to hundreds of families during this difficult time.

Together, we stand with the people of Assam. Together, we make a difference.
